Archives for February 2014
If the post didn’t already suggest it, Titanic is one of my all time FAVORITE movies. It’s one those movies that if I happen to catch it on tv I always stick around to watch, and from time to time pull out the dvd and play that too. I don’t think I could even count the number of times I’ve seen it. Don’t lie, you know you love this movie too, haha. 🙂
Even if you don’t have the rich Cal Hockley in your life to give ya the real thing, you can make your very own heart of the ocean without spending a penny and your finished piece will be priceless. Plus Leonardo DiCaprio
doesn’t have to die in the end! Sounds good to me!
I’ve had the idea of this necklace for a while now, and yesterday I finally made one. I was kinda putting it off because I wasn’t sure if it was going to be one of those projects that seems like a good idea in theory and then turns out terrible once it’s made. But I think this turned out really cute, I will definitely really wear this!
The pattern for the heart was inspired by these cute hearts found here.
To make you own knit heart of the ocean, here’s what you’ll need:
2 US size 3 double pointed knitting needles
worsted weight acrylic yarn (navy blue, and white)
size 3.5 mm crochet hook
jump rings and clasp
The heart. Make 2
Cast on 3 stitches
Row 1: knit to end of row
Row 2: purl to end of row
Row 3: kfb, k1, kfb (5)
Row 4: purl to end of row
Cut yarn, and slide to other end of needle. On the same needle, cast on 3 stitches.
Repeat rows 1-4.
Push to two little pieces together for a total of 10 stitches
