3 Granny Square Blanket Patterns to Crochet This Season
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something so timeless about classic granny square blanket patterns. Well, I actually do know what it is, granny square blankets are pretty much everywhere and when most of us think about crochet, they are probably what come to mind first. Simple, vintage-y, and lots of fun, especially when you mix different colors to create something super unique.

Over the years, I’ve designed a handful of squares that I always end up coming back to. I love to use them for blankets, bags, scarves, coasters and more. The possibilities are really endless. Today, I’m sharing three of my most-loved granny square patterns.
Have any of these made your favorites list?
This post will walk you through all three (with links to each free pattern), plus how to grab the full printable pattern bundle if you want to access them offline and on the go!
1. Circle to Square Granny Square
This pattern serves up a modern twist to the classic granny square. It starts with a circle and works gradually into a nicely pointed square. It can be really great if you’re going for a minimalist vibe or if you’re into color blocking.

For my blanket, I was inspired by favorite colors (ones you’ll see all over my website!). It consists of aqua, pinks, gray, gold and white.

2. Dainty Daisy Granny Square
This square was inspired by a daisy granny square blanket I would always find on the back of the couch at my family’s camp. Its not the same daisy square, but it’s similar! I love the vintage and sweet look of these squares, especially when they’re all put together.

The puff stitch petals add texture, and it’s just as fun to crochet as it is to admire once finished.

3. Raspberry Sprinkle Granny Square
For this one, I combined two of my favorite things, Raspberry Sprinkle donuts and granny squares! The color combo for these made me think of the sweet treat, so that’s how I came up with that name! I love this square because like the circle granny, it starts out as a circle and gradually turns into a square. These are super fun because every round has something different, but its also super intuitive at the same time.

It’s also a great stash buster!
