Modern Stripe Throw
Cuddle up with a cup of tea and a good book under your own Modern Stripe Throw. Made with the beautifully simple moss stitch the color-work striping can really shine. Find the pattern below!
Hello and welcome back to my blog! I have a fun new pattern to share with you today – the Modern Stripe Throw. I’ve actually had this project done for quite a while, but I had debated on whether or not to share the pattern because the yarn I made it with has been unfortunately discontinued. The yarn used for this project was Lion Brand Color Made Easy, and I loved it so much! I had had huge quantity of it (enough to make this blanket) laying around for a while, but I wasn’t sure exactly what to make with it for the longest time.
When I finally settled on this fun blanket design and got over halfway through crocheting, I found out the yarn had been discontinued. I had crocheted too far to turn back at that point, and liked the design so I decided to finish it.
It’s a shame the yarn has been discontinued, but it happens. I decided to ultimately release the pattern because there are alternative yarn options that can be used for this blanket, and you can still achieve a beautiful result. I’ve included my top two picks for yarn substitutions for this pattern, but you are free to use whatever yarn you’d like!

Hi Brittany,
I loved your blanket, and the Moss/Linen stitch is one of my most favorite stitch patterns because of the lovely soft fabric it creates. Great for baby blankets, and all of my crocheting these days are in baby blankets and garments donated to a local charity. So I had some creating of my own to do, sizing this down to a baby blanket size, but following the basic color scheme you designed, using DK yarn and a #7 hook. It came out great and I am so happy with it, I’m now working on another one, just changing up the colors a little. I just wanted to thank you for this lovely design. It came at a very good time, and it inspired me.
Hi Sandra! Thank you for taking the time to share with me! You blankets sound lovely, and I’m so glad you found inspiration in this project!
