If you are a fan of the show Parks and Recreation and appreciate a cute a crochet you have probably noticed the adorable granny square afghan on the back of Ann’s couch.
Through a little bit googling I found that I am not alone in loving this afghan but I couldn’t find a pattern. So, I made my own! I was however very excited to find the schematic for the blanket from Captain Hook’s Crochet Nook. Click here to check it out.
Your circle should look like this:
Round 5 (almost completed) completed should now look like this.
Round 6 is now complete, ending in the ch 2 space of corner 1. Round 7 begins here.
Round 7: Keep working in the same fashion as round 6. At the end of this round, cut yarn and secure in ch 2 space of corner 1 of round 7. Change color!
Rounds 8 and 9: With the new color attached work the square just like the previous round
Beginning of round 8
End of round 9
Thank you so much for this! I have been searching forever! Cant wait to see how it turns out!
So happy I found this. Is there any way you can explain exactly what you did for lines 4, 5 & 6? I would appreciate it! Thanks!! š
Thank you for this great post! One question though, for round 4 when you say (2 DC, 5 DC) does that mean 2 DC in each DC? then 1 DC in each DC for 5 stitches? thank you!
Thank you for your comments! I finally corrected the pattern and added some more pictures of the process. I hope the revisions will clear up any confusion, but if you have and questions feel free to ask! Have fun crocheting!
Thank you so much for this! I can't wait to see how it works out! š
AWESOME! I love that I just googled this, and got an answer right away. I knew I couldn't be the only one who loved that afghan! š So, any ideas yet on the amount of yarn? And how big do you think it will be total? I've never made an afghan…
Googled around to see if anyone else was in love with Ann's afghan. thanks for this! š It'll be a long project for me (I'm terrible at granny squares) but I will wrap up in Ann's afghan while watching Parks and Rec! I WILL! š
I hope you continue your blog :B
thank you for sharing!
xxxx Ale
Thanks for stopping by! š
Love this idea! I don't watch that show, but that's a beautiful blanket. So fun to recreate it yourself, isn't it?
Iām working on this now and was wondering if you ever finished! Also, do you have any directions of what colors to use for the patterns to match Annās blanket? Thanks so much for the pattern! Itās my first time doing a granny square and Iām really liking it š
