Lucky One Crochet Scarf Pattern
The Lucky One Crochet Scarf is the pattern to get you ready for St. Patrick’s Day! Crochet this scarf up with your best of vibes so you can enjoy all the positive energy radiating from it as you wear it!
The Lucky One Crochet Scarf was made in collaboration with Lion Brand Yarn. The pattern design was commissioned by Lion Brand and the yarn was provided to me, however this blog post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own.
The Yarn
The pattern was designed with Lion Brand’s Superwash Merino. It was my first time using this yarn and I have to say I loved working with it! The fabric created from the yarn is super lush with an incredible drape. If you haven’t tried out LB Superwash Merino yet, I highly recommend it.
The Stitch
For the Lucky One Crochet Scarf, I chose the C2C moss stitch. It’s one of my favorite stitches because of the beautiful stitch definition it creates and in turn it celebrates the beauty of the yarn. I’m also a huge fan of how stripes look with this stitch too!
And to spruce up the scarf, I added a fun picot detail for the border.

Hook + Notions
- 5.5 mm hook (or hook size that meets gauge)
- scissors
- yarn needle
Gauge
- 25 st by 23 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Main Pattern Stitch (sc and ch 1 each counts as a separate stitch)

- To reduce number of ends to weave in at the end of the project, carry yarn up along the side edge when working striped colorwork.
Lucky One Crochet Scarf Pattern – Starts Here
With MC, ch 3.
Row 1: In 3rd ch from hook, sc and hdc in same st; turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, sc in 1st st, ch 1, sk a st, sc and hdc in top of turning ch from prev row; turn.
Row 3 (inc row): Ch 2, sc in 1st st, ch 1, *sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1; rep from * until you reach last ch 1 sp of row, sc and hdc in top of turning ch from prev row; turn.
Rows 4 – 52: Rep Row 3.
Main Pattern Stitch
Row 53: Ch 2, sc in 1st st, *ch 1, sc in next ch 1 sp; rep from * until you have completed a sc in last ch 1 sp of row, hdc in top of turning ch from prev row; turn.
Row 54: Ch 2, *sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1; rep from * until you reach last ch 1 sp of row, sc and hdc in top of turning ch from prev row; turn.
Rows 55 – 72: Rep Main Pattern Stitch Rows 53 and 54, 9 times ending on a Row 54 rep
Do not cut yarn. Attach CC1.
Color Sequence 1
Color 1 = MC, Color 2 = CC1

Rep Dec Row until no ch 1 sp remains.
Ch 1, hdc in top of turning ch from prev row.
Fasten off.
Border
Border is worked in rounds.
Round 1: Attach CC2 to any corner. Ch 1, make 3 sc in same corner sp, sc evenly along perimeter of scarf making 3 sc in each corner. Do not join at end of round.
Round 2: Sc in each st around, making 3 sc in each corner. Do not join at end of round.
Round 3: Sc in next st, *ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, sc in same ch, ch 1, sc in same ch, sc in each of the next 3 st; rep from * to end of round. Sl st into starting st of round.
Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in yarn ends.
